Bangla is the official language of Bangladesh, and it is also spoken in some regions of India. This free program can translate English words into Bangla language. You only need to enter the English word whose Bangla equivalent you want to know, and click on the Go button. The program will show all the translations of the word you search. An interesting feature is that the program does not only show the translated word in Bangla, but also provides several phrases and examples of the word collocability. For example, I searched the word "snake". Besides the corresponding Bangla word, I was also shown results for "snake charmer", "snake in the grass", and other useful examples.
The program is also a tool for learning Bangla language. It allows you to create a list of words you want to practice. Each time you search for a Bangla translation, you can add the original English word to My Words list. Then, you can display only the definitions of the words that appear on the list, thus giving you the chance to study them and rehearse their writing. The program can also create random lists of words for you.
